Genevieve is a genre-defying band led by Scottish-Dutch composer, vocalist, and performance artist Genevieve Murphy, known internationally for her emotionally charged, interdisciplinary approach throughout the experimental and contemporary music scene. Formed in 2021, the band fuses techno, rock, punk, jazz, and free improvisation, channeling a raw and dynamic energy that challenges the boundaries of live performance. Built around Murphy’s distinctive compositions—rooted in classical training—the group thrives on spontaneity, theatricality, and a shared drive for sonic exploration.

The band features a powerhouse lineup of versatile, world renowned musicians including pianist Marta Warelis, a major voice in the European improvisation scene; guitarist Andy Moor (The Ex), known for his work across avant-garde and punk scenes; expressive saxophonist John Dikeman; inventive drummer Henning Luther. Their performances blur the line between pop, rock and jazz, as Murphy’s lyrics, physical and vocal presence weaves through the ensemble, creating immersive experiences that are as theatrical as they are musically daring. With each show, Genevieve aims to cultivate a deeper sense of embodiment, interaction, and radical musical expression on stage.
