Temptation begins as a whisper inside us, yet its object often feels external—something shining just beyond reach. Lure explores this paradox: the way desire is both self-
generated and baited by forces outside our control.
The music moves between moments of seductive stillness and sudden, almost involuntary surges, mirroring the tension between awareness and surrender.
When the lure finally draws us in, there is a brief, deceptive calm—a quiet breath of
satisfaction—before the next craving coils and begins again.
Written in a quiet dialogue with the late Belgian composer Luc Brewaeys, whose character carried its own echoes of yearning, the piece reflects how pleasure and peril often pour from the same glass.
Each gesture invites, taunts, and entangles, tracing the loop of wanting, yielding, and
being wanted, where the most dangerous wishes are the ones we set for ourselves.
